How do I lace up the windshield of a Harley Davidson?

My dad is restoring a coworkers Harley for her friend who survived ****** cancer. The bike use to be green, but now it’s two-toned white and pink with a pink ribbon on the front fender. It’s really nice! My dilemma is getting the lace work right on the windshield perimeter. The laces are a mauve color to match the bike. I have all the laces, I believe there are 13 or 14 laces, for each side, to go through the holes and then two more, really long laces that ties each side together. I need to know how to tie these on since my dad didn’t pay attention to it when he took them off! Any help, a website or book, would really be appreciated! Thanks!
